12th "WAYS+" Youth Salon Held in Wenzhou
The 12th "WAYS+" Youth Salon took place in Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province, on June 14. Organized by the World Association of Young Scientists (WAYS) together with local science and technology organizations in Ouhai District, the event brought together researchers, young scientists, entrepreneurs and innovators from China, the United States, Malaysia, the Netherlands and other countries.

Themed "Green Technology Meets Artificial Intelligence," the salon explored how emerging technologies can contribute to a more sustainable future. Discussions covered areas such as clean energy, environmental governance, AI applications, life sciences and green finance, fostering cross-disciplinary academic exchange and international dialogue..
During the keynote session, Tao Yang, a member of the Norwegian Academy of Engineering and the Royal Norwegian Society of Sciences and Letters, spoke about the development of green fuels. His presentation highlighted advances in carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS), hydrogen technologies and bioenergy.
Shulei Chou, Vice President of WAYS and Director of the Institute of Carbon Neutrality Technology Innovation at Wenzhou University, shared recent progress in sodium-ion batteries, with a particular focus on technological innovation and practical applications.
The roundtable brought Chinese and international participants together to discuss the growing links between green technology and AI. The conversation also touched on models for international collaboration and local industrial synergies.
Through the "WAYS+" Youth Salon, WAYS aims to create more opportunities for young scientists to exchange ideas, build international connections and develop practical partnerships in support of sustainable development.
