The WYSS European Event is a flagship international platform of the World Young Scientist Summit (WYSS) dedicated to Europe. Held successfully for four consecutive editions, it has grown from a purely academic exchange into a key bridge for China–Europe science, technology and innovation cooperation — the 2025 edition was included in the official program commemorating the 50th anniversary of China–EU diplomatic relations and received high recognition from the Chinese Mission to the EU. On October 15–16, 2026, the event will return to Brussels, Belgium. Under the theme "Frontier Science & Youth Responsibility, Shaping a Sustainable Future Together", it will feature an opening ceremony, plenary sessions, thematic seminars and four parallel forums, covering China–Europe youth frontier dialogue and collaborative innovation, education and research cooperation, youth diversity and inclusion, and a high-level science-culture-business dialogue marking the 55th anniversary of China–Belgium diplomatic relations. Co-hosted by the World Young Scientist Summit and the Associated Centre of Eurasian for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (ACEIE), with support from the Chinese Mission to the EU and the Chinese Embassy in Belgium, the event will bring together some 150 onsite participants — including academics and members of academies, EU and international organization representatives, senior and young scientists, entrepreneurs and investors — with over 70 speakers and panelists. It aims to build consensus among young Chinese and European scientists, foster a long-term, open and trusting transnational innovation network, and select outstanding European experts and projects to join WYSS 2026 in Wenzhou, jointly addressing global challenges and shaping a sustainable future.
